On December 22nd, Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora will renew acquaintances.  The two heavyweight sluggers battled it out in 2016 in an exciting scrap that won many publications Fight of the Year honors. Whyte edged it out with a split decision victory.

This will be Whyte's third fight of the year.  He started off his 2018 campaign with a highlight reel knockout of Lucas Browne in March. He followed that up with a unanimous decision victory over former champion Joseph Parker in July  Both men hit the canvas in the fight.

Parker's trainer Kevin Barry expects the sequel to be as good as the first fight and is very interested in having his fighter face the winner.

"I think it is a very exciting fight in the UK. Last time it was a real barn burner. They stood in the trenches and bashed each other for 12 rounds. A lot of people thought Chisora won and Dillian Whyte got the nod. Either way, if Chisora beats Whyte then we will be going after Chisora. I am pretty sure that the boxing fans in the UK, as much they love Whyte-Chisora, they will love a Whyte-Parker rematch," Barry told BoxingScene.com.

Parker (24-20 returns to the ring on December 15th in New Zealand against Alexander Flores (17-1-1).

The New Zealand native is coming off consecutive losses to Whyte and WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO champion Anthony Joshua.  Barry is very confident that is fighter will bounce back and expects him to be back in a big fight very soon.

"It has been a really big year for our team. We have come up short the last couple of fights and there are people who are saying that this is it and maybe Joseph is done but let's remember Joseph is 26 years old. He knows what it is like to get to the mountain top. He has been there before. For us the challenge is getting there again and it is going to be twice as sweet," Barry stated.
