Olympic gold medal winner Odlanier Solis (17-1, 12KOs) is very excited with his scheduled return to the ring. Solis has been out of the ring for over a year. He wants to make a big impression on the local crowd at the Pharr Events Center in Pharr, Texas. Solis is training in Florida, with Cuban coach Pedro Diaz, for the upcoming return. The opponent is well traveled contender Konstantin Airich (23-5-2, 17 KOs).

Last March in Cologne, Solis suffered a serious knee injury in the first round of his TKO defeat to WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko. After several surgeries and several postponements, the Cuban heavyweight is ready to make another run at the heavyweight crown. He wants to work his way to another shot at Vitali.

"I know that I can beat Klitschko for the world championship and I will. Of course I have to work hard for it and I will earn my title shot again. But if I'm spared from any further injuries, there is no one who can stop me on my way to the world championship," Solis told Figo Sport.
