Coming off his third-round stoppage of Zsolt Bedak on April 23rd in Cebu City, Philippines it looks like WBO super bantamweight titlist Nonito Donaire will now most likely be moving onto to facing a young, hungry challenger.

"We've got to fight Jessie Magdaleno," Cameron Dunkin, the manager of 'the Filipino Flash' told BoxingScene.com.

"So I'm sure some time this week we'll try and make a deal. I don't think it'll get done but we'll start talking about it."

Magdaleno (23-0, 17 KO's) is the number one rated contender by the WBO and will most likely soon be made the mandatory challenger.

"We haven't gotten any letters to that effect but that's the fight we're trying to make," said Bob Arum, who happens to promote both boxers.

According to the veteran promoter this fight could take place in the Philippines or Dubai.

Both fighters saw action three times in 2015, and one fight a piece in 2016.

Magadeleno is scheduled to fight again on July 16th as the headline performer on UniMas. The unbeaten contender was last in action back in February when he knocked out Rey Perez in seven rounds in Arizona.

Donaire (37-3, 24KOs) has built up a four fight win streak since dropping back top super bantamweight after getting knocked out by the much bigger Nicholas Walters at the featherweight limit.
