David Dolan gets the chance to make amends on Friday the 15th of this month when he takes on former conqueror Rob Norton at the Leisure Centre, Altrincham on a Hatton Promotions bill.  Dolan, 30, lost on points to Norton for the British and Commonwealth cruiserweight titles last June and is eager to set the record straight.

The Sunderland-based boxer has produced quality work in fits and starts during his pro career; however, Neil Fannan, who trains Dolan, is confident that his man is going to come good in this one.

“Dave's conducted himself well inside and outside the ring in the amateurs, and enjoyed a lot of success,” said Fannan when talking to the Sunderland Echo.

“He won three ABA titles in a row and Commonwealth Games gold, which is fantastic.  But I'll be relieved when he wins something as a pro.  If he doesn't, then he's under-achieved – and I don't want to see that.  He's come on a ton since he came here and I'm pleased with the way I've transformed him into a pro.”

Dolan is 13-2 (5) to Norton’s 32-4-1 (19); the time has come for Dolan to reproduce the form that took him to those amateur title wins.
