Anthony Mundine was disappointed when Floyd Mayweather Jr. was denied entry into Australian, because he claims the pound-for-pound king had a requested a face to face meeting. Mayweather was scheduled for a series of speaking engagements, but his request for a visa was denied, with officials citing his past domestic violence charge and the brief jail stint that followed.

“He actually sought a meeting with me, I don’t know whether he was interested in talking about a potential fight, a business opportunity or whether he is just curious,” Mundine said to the Daily Telegraph. “My people are trying to organize a talk, we’ll see what happens.”

Mundine has been calling for a fight with Mayweather for at least four years. While the world waits for that one, Mundine (47-6, 27KO) is trying to get a fight with Austin Trout. Mundine was accused of ducking Trout two years ago.

“It would be a good fight, there is some bad blood between us from a couple of years ago, boxing fans want to see that fight, and I believe I would stop him,” Mundine said.
