New Zealand boxer Bowyn Morgan believes a knockout is required in order to defeat rising Australian star Tim Tszyu on December 16 at the Bankwest Stadium in Sydney.
The card will also feature a grudge match between former Cronulla captain Paul Gallen and martial arts legend Mark Hunt.
Morgan is a huge underdog in the fight - with Tszyu (16-0, 12 KOs) coming off a career best win, an eight round destruction of Jeff Horn from back in August.
Morgan (21-1, 11 KOs) has been unbeaten since 2016, when he was stopped in three rounds by Kris George.
He believes a decision win is not in the cards, with too much money invested in Tszyu's future success.
"I know coming over there, I have to put him away to get the win. I know that," Morgan said to WA Today. "There can’t be judges entailed for me to get the win. No, [I'm not concerned with the judges], I just know with my fighting style compared to his, for me, I have to get him out of there.
"He's been boxing great, Tim, at the moment. He's got great hands, good footwork. I just thought he hasn't fought someone like me who comes forward on that front foot. As much as he says he wants that, let's see. On the inside. No one has pushed him on the front foot. As much as he wants it, no one has. That's a weakness."
This is not he first time that Morgan was in line to face Tszyu. He turned down an approach to face Tszyu last year.
"The reason that got turned down is because I already had an IBF Pan Pacific title fight scheduled and because of COVID that got taken away," Morgan said.
"This is a massive opportunity for me, I can’t wait to take it with both hands."
