WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto is resting from last Saturday's twelfth round knockout Ricardo Mayorga. Top Rank is drawing up a plan to match Cotto against Mexican rival Antonio Margarito on April 16. Cotto was knocked out by Margarito in eleven rounds in their 2008 battle. Cotto is interested in getting his revenge. He wants to discuss Margarito, among other options, when he meets with Top Rank in the near future.

"We are awaiting a meeting with the promoter to know exactly what to expect in the future and see what the next step will be. We have always been open to facing the big names and Margarito is one of them. If the offer [for Margarito] is the best one, then of course I will fight him. [But] I really don't know what's on the table beyond Margarito. It is therefore important to first meet with Top Rank," Cotto told Lester Jiminez.

Another boxer calling Cotto out, is 160-pound king Sergio Martinez. Cotto would not give a direct response on whether he would accept such a fight, but he won't rule it out either.

"He would be a good opponent. He's a strong champion at 160 pounds. But it remains to be seen on whether we would do that fight. We are very comfortable at 154, but this is a business and we have not ruled out any names from the list of candidates," Cotto said.
