Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will not have any complications against countryman Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., when they collide on the 6th of May, according to the opinion of legendary Mexican fighter Guadalupe Pintor .

"Canelo will not go down against Chavez Jr. and I would bet on that. He is going to give it to him whenever he wants. Julio can climb up with a 30 pound weight advantage and it won't matter, there is no comparison with their boxing," said the former world champion to Carlos Zambaro.

Even when it comes to power, Pintor does not see any issues when Chavez Jr. connects. He believes Canelo will walk through the shots.

Pintor admits that he wasn't always sold on Canelo and took some shots at him a few years ago, but now apologizes.

"The power and punch of Chavez will not even tickle Saul, and [Canelo] will decide when to end it. Alvarez is going through his best moment as a fighter, and I certainly I am inclined to pick him to win ," said the fighter who is part of the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota , New York .

"The idol [in Mexico] is already Canelo. He only needs to be consolidated with a great fight and he can be. Saul has come from the bottom to the top to be considered the best Mexican boxer today.

"My respect is for Alvarez , because he built his career despite all the criticism and circumstances. He has taken advantage of every opportunity presented to him. His story was made in the United States, where idols are really forged."

"I criticized Saul in the beginning because it was too early for what they were doing with him and now he is an established fighter. I have respect for him and I apologize because in the end he's proved to be a great fighter. Canelo has achieved everything based on work. It is not only advertising and marketing, he has proved to be the best thanks to his discipline and training."
