UFC superstar Conor McGregor is two days away from his long awaited return to the octagon, but he's been talking up a return to boxing in several interviews and during most of the media events.

McGregor, back for the first time in 15 months, is going to fight face Donald Cerrone in a welterweight clash at UFC 246 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday.

At the junior middleweight limit, Mayweather stopped McGregor in ten rounds. Their pay-per-view event did massive business, with over 4 million purchases on pay-per-view.

Now McGregor is eying another pay-per-view clash in boxing, this time against WBA welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao - who appears to have interest in making that fight happen.

McGregor would love to have that mega-event take place at the Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium, which is going to be the new home to the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders. The stadium, which is going to hold over 60,000 fans, is still under construction, with the official opening targeted for the summer.

“That’s the new football stadium, is it? I would be honored to be a part of that event,” McGregor said.

“I would love to be the first combatant to fight in that arena. What a fight that would be against Manny, right? A small, powerful southpaw. I’d have to figure out the weight and these types of things, but it’s something that interests me no doubt.

“It’ll be hard to leave the MMA game fully. I think that’s a great aspiration to have, to achieve that world boxing title. What a feather in the cap that would be, to be a multiple-time dual-weight mixed martial arts world champion and then to acquire a boxing world title. That’s something I always look to aspire bigger and reach higher and aim for the stars. With activity, with consistency, and with structure I can do anything, like I have done already.”
