Opole, Poland - In a very bizarre situation, when the scorecards were announced (75-77, 76-75, 76-75), Marcin Rekowski was announced as the winner but then it was revealed that an error was made and it was actually former heavyweight champion Oliver McCall who actually won the contest. McCall (57-13, 37 KOs) hands Rekowski (12-1, 10 KOs) his first career defeat and likely moves forward to a fight with Wawrzyk.
Andrzej Wawrzyk (28-1, 14 KOs) did not have any problems with an easy first round battering of 40-year-old Danny Williams (45-21, 34 KOs), who went down twice in a blink of an eye. The fight was scheduled for eight in Opole, Poland. For Wawrzyk, it was his first fight since a third round TKO defeat to then WBA 'regular' heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin, which took place last May in at the Crocus City Hall in Russia.
