Without coming out and just saying it, trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. once again made comments which are obviously hinting that Manny Pacquiao was using performance enhancing drugs when tore through an army of top fighters from 2006 to 2010 - including Erik Morales, Ricky Hatton, David Diaz, Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Joshua Clottey, Antonio Margarito.
A few years ago, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Mayweather Sr. and his brother Roger Mayweather were sued by Pacquiao for defamation - because all three individuals made comments that linked Pacquiao to PEDs. The case was confidentially settled.
But Mayweather Sr. continued to give his personal opinion, which links Pacquiao to PEDs. And he says because Pacquiao has not stopped an opponent inside the distance since 2009, it further proves his point.
"[Laughs] You know why that is [regarding Pacquiao's no KO streak], it’s about five years ain’t it? The only thing I will tell you is like I was telling everybody else and why that crooked lawyer I had took my money [during the lawsuit], I’m just telling you what happened. The crooked lawyer took my money and he ain’t knocking nobody out no more. That just tells you right there, it’s two crooks," Mayweather Sr. told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.
And Mayweather Sr. was not impressed with Pacquiao's six knockdown performance over Chris Algieri from last Saturday night.
"The big thing is now that he was knocking all the big guys out, he was knocking the big guys that can box and fight. Shane Mosley, the Puerto Rican kid, he was knocking them cold and now all of the sudden, he fought a fight with his natural strength and he’s knocking them down but that ain’t nothing. He’s knocking a guy down six times, why did the guy not stay down? He was knocking them cold, ain’t nobody going out cold no more, what’s that all about?," Mayweather Sr. said.
Pacquiao is hungry to face Floyd Sr.'s son next year in a mega-fight. Discussions are ongoing between parties connected to both sides.
