Last weekend a challenge was made, and a few days later the challenge was answered. Shortly after his decision win over Rodney Jones in Florida, IBF junior middleweight champion Cory Spinks called out Floyd Mayweather, Jr., among others.

“I want the cash cows. They know who they are: Mosley, De La Hoya, Mayweather, Vargas. I’m ready. It just depends on whether they’re ready for me," Spinks said.

Not long after, Mayweather was asked about a possible fight with Spinks, and he saw no reason for the fight to take place.

"Cory is a good fighter," Mayweather told the St. Louis Dispatch. "But he got his ass kicked by Zab Judah, and what did I do to Judah? I humiliated Judah."

The two fighters almost came together last year, but after the fight appeared to be a done deal, Mayweather decided to go with Carlos Baldomir instead.
