WBC welterweight champ Floyd Mayweather Jr, in a conversation with boxing scribe Dan Rafael , said Ricky Hatton should consider retirement. Mayweather stopped Hatton in the tenth-round of their Dec. 8 enoucnter in Las Vegas. The pound-for-pound fighter feels Hatton has been through too many wars, and doesn't think he should risk his health by fighting again.

"I hope Ricky Hatton is able get to through this one," Mayweather told Rafael. "This is tough on him and his family. I know he's been through a lot of wars. I don't think he should fight again. A fight of this magnitude can really tear you down mentally and physically. The wars, like his fight with Kostya Tszyu and me, eventually catch up to you like they did with Fernando Vargas and Erik Morales."
