Floyd Mayweather Jr. has explained, in further detail, why he refuses to give Manny Pacquiao an even 50-50 revenue split to finalize the biggest fight in the sport of boxing. Mayweather, who appeared for a live interview on "Costas Tonight," discussed his reasons for not agreeing to a 50-50 split with Pacquiao. Mayweather also detailed why he offered Pacquiao a flat guarantee of $40 million dollars - with 0% of the pay-per-view revenue. Mayweather also refuses to accept Pacquiao's counter-offer, which is a 45-45 split with the winner receiving the remaining 10%.
"I got on the phone directly with Manny. I done my homework and saw what he was making for big fights. The offer that I made him, I offered him $40 million and told him that I would wire him $20 [million] in 72 hours. The manager said that he would get back to me, a guy by the name of Michael Koncz flew to Las Vegas to talk to me because he said that he was in control. I met with him a couple of times and tried to make the fight and then they said they were going another route," Mayweather said.
