Two time former champion Ricardo "Matador" Mayorga (29-8-1, 23 KOs) of Nicaragua is now baiting Marco Antonio "Veneno" Rubio (53-6-1, 46 KOs) to accept a possible May fight, by calling the Mexican middleweight "a coward." Mayorga believes Rubio will run from the fight.
Mayorga stated "I do not think he will accept the fight, he's a coward."
Rubio's promoters, Reginaldo and Oswaldo Kuchle, are reportedly speaking with Mayorga's promoter Don King, to finalize a May fight. Mayorga has mentioned a date of May 12th and a catch-weight of 165-pounds.
The Nicaraguan has been inactive since March of last year, when he was knocked out in the twelfth round by WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Angel Cotto of Puerto Rico. Rubio last fought in February, losing a twelve round decision to WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
