British welterweight Matthew Hatton says the camp of Floyd Mayweather Jr. have placed three calls to his team for a possible future fight. Hatton wants to avenge older brother Ricky's knockout loss to Mayweather from 2007. He can't believe the fight between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is off. Anything Floyd wants him to do in order to make the fight, he will do it.

“It’s ridiculous that Mayweather-Pacquiao is not on. It could be the biggest fight of all time. Blood tests are an important thing but, if it stands in the way of it happening, it would be a shame. I would do anything that Mayweather wanted. If you are clean and have got nothing to hide then you don’t let that get in the way," Hatton told The Daily Star.

“Mayweather’s camp have been in touch about three times now. With the Pacquiao fight being called off now, it’s good news for me. My trainer was told by them I’m top of their list of opponents.”

Hatton would be a considerable underdog if the fight took place. He still predicts a competitive fight that can end by knockout if he catches Mayweather with the right punch. Hatton's ex-trainer Billy Graham recently told BoxingScene.com that Matthew would get dominated, punished and knocked out by Mayweather.

“To pit myself against one of the best fighters of all time, in my opinion, would be an amazing opportunity. It would be a great experience. I’m a very durable fighter and have never been put down, so I think I would make it a competitive fight. He’s a level above me in terms of class but, in sport, upsets happen. And it only takes one punch in boxing,” Hatton said.
