Mexico's Antonio Margarito is going to keep the pressure on Manny Pacquiao and wants a serious fight to break out on November 13 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The former three time welterweight champion is planning to tests just how much damage Pacquiao can take. There were signs that Pacquiao was unable to deal with punches of a larger fighter when Joshua Clottey marked up his face with only a few landed punches in their March bout.
"This the best training camp of my career for the biggest fight of my career," Margarito says. I respect Pacquiao and the victories that he's achieved over Oscar De La Hoya, Cotto and several others, but the truth of the matter is - he has never fought someone like me. This is my weight division, where I am comfortable and we'll see it in the ring. I'm going to stay on him and always keep the pressure on him and if he wants to trade punches, we'll see just how much he can take," Margarito said. "He's beaten a lot of Mexicans but I'm confident that I'm going to win for my fallen countryman."
Margarito's trainer believes the fight can tell the same story as Margarito's 2008 knockout of Miguel Cotto. Margarito is said to weighing 156-pounds, which is only a few pounds away from the contracted limit of 150-pounds.
"We have to keep the pressure on. I believe that we can be down in the early rounds, then even things up in the middle rounds and then win by knockout in the later rounds," Garcia said.
