Former three time welterweight champion Antonio Margarito wants to redeem the Mexican boxers that were beaten over the years by Manny Pacquiao. Margarito will get his big chance to accomplish that on November 13 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. One of the things that bothered Margarito was the performance of Oscar De La Hoya in his 2008 TKO loss to Pacquiao. De La Hoya called it a day before the start of the ninth round.
Margarito thinks De La Hoya gave Mexicans a bad name by not going out on his shield. He wants to show everyone what a "true Mexican" does against Pacquiao.
"There's a difference between both of us. I'm a true Mexican. I will die in the ring. I will not quit," Margarito told BoxingScene.com's Ernest Gabion.
Margarito is not worried about Pacquiao's speed, but realizes the Filipino's fast hands could present problems.
"I'm going to do everything. I'm going to give my heart. I'm going to do everything I can to beat Manny Pacquiao. Speed can give any type of fighter problems, but I'm going to be ready," Margarito said.
