The last we saw of Macos Maidana was last September where he lost for the second time against Floyd Mayweather in 2014. And if you've seen recent pictures of 'El Chino' - it seems as though boxing is the last thing on his mind. His trainer, Robert Garcia, doesn't believe he'll be seeing him anytime soon - if ever - in a boxing ring again.

"So I wouldn't be surprised if he never fights again and I support him 100-percent. He  made a lot of money on the Mayweather fights and the (Adrien) Broner fight. Those fights back-to-back he made, if I'm not mistaken, close to $12 million in those three fights. So who can blame him."

According to the respected trainer, boxing was nothing more than a vocation for the Argentinian.

"He never had the love for the sport. It's not like he loves to do it like Mayweather who loves the attention enough to do it because of the fame and money. He's comfortable at home," said Garcia, who then added with a chuckle - "Those millions of dollars that he made or that he took home, it's probably like a hundred million in Argentina. So he's just enjoying life. It's not like he ever loved the sport anyways, so I don't blame him."

As for what Garcia would advise the 32-year old:

"I'd tell him to relax and enjoy it and if he wants to come back and then wants my services I'll be more than happy to help him but I also don't want him to be forced to do something because his manager, his trainer, his promoter are forcing him to do it. He's going to have to do it because he wants to but it's going to be hard to get those pounds off. It's not going to be easy, so he's going to need quite a few months just to lose some weight."

If Maidana does walk away from the sport, his record will stand at 35-5 (31 KO's) with memorable battles against the likes of Victor Ortiz, Josesito Lopez, Jesus Soto-Karass, Broner and Mayweather. Maidana captured major world titles at both super lightweight and welterweight.
