Comments Thread For: Marcos Maidana May Never Fight Again, Says Garcia

The last we saw of Macos Maidana was last September where he lost for the second time against Floyd Mayweather in 2014. And if you've seen recent pictures of 'El Chino' - it seems as though boxing is the last thing on his mind. His trainer, Robert Garcia, doesn't believe he'll be seeing him anytime soon - if ever - in a boxing ring again.

maidana had a heck of a career, all things considered. he won world titles, fought on f#cking ppv against floyd mayweather, and had one of the most entertaining wins of the last 10 years when he beat adrien broner.

12 million for the broner and mayweather fights? he's going to retire like a f#Cking king in argie. this guy will never box again.

i wish him all the best. his fight with ortiz was his best. crazy, crazy fight that was. what a war. two of the hardest punchers you'll ever see at 140 lbs. ortiz was never the same after that fight. not even close.

Many fighters fight for glory, history and world fame. Many fighters fight to make a better life for themselves and their family.

Maidana hit it big with Broner and then TWO Mayweather fights (which is obviously rare if your name isn't Castillo or Maidana). With the money he made from those fights, I don't blame him either.

Him pushing Mayweather and making millions (twice) is pretty much the pinnacle for many fighters. It's probably hard for him to want to get up for anything else or anything less than that.

Respect to Maidana if he official retires. I'd DEFINITELY have retired already if I made $12M (gross) in a year in the getting hit in the head business.

No shame in retiring whatsoever. Well done, Chino!

As Marvin Hagler said, it's tough to get out of bed to do roadwork at 5 am when you've been sleeping in silk pajamas.

Chino has had a good career and made enough money to live comfortably for the rest of his life. If his heart isn't in it anymore then there's nothing wrong with calling it quits.

If he wants to retire and chill go ahead man you accomplished like 1000x more then anyone would have imagined and got rich in the process.

If he never fights again it sucks for me as a fan of his and his style but if his heart isnt in it and he is out of shape I wouldent want to see him come back cause the maidana we might get will not be the same Maidana that made us a fan.

Retire in Peace, the second coming of Chino has already started his lil brother Fabian TNT Maidana!
