Former two division world champion Paulie Malignaggi has never been the type to bite his tongue.
Malignaggi is not fully convinced that Manny Pacquiao suffered a serious shoulder injury during last month's fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
According to Pacquiao, he suffered a right shoulder injury (rotator cuff tear) during the fourth round of the fight and that affected his performance down the stretch.
Pacquiao had surgery the following week and is expected to remain on the shelf until next year.
Malignaggi is casting doubt on the seriousness of the injury, and demands that Pacquiao's team disclose the actual pre-surgery MRI.
"I'm sure he had surgery, some kind of scope. Did you ask [the doctor] for the MRI? Because I'll ask him myself. Let's show us the MRI. When I got cut I put the sh*t up on Twitter. Show us the MRI and I'll get my own specialist check out the MRI and he'll tell you how severe this tear is. It's this mystery MRI, this severe tear, where is it? Let's see it. It's the most talked about tear in sports. Let's see it. Can we see it?," Malignaggi said.
"They don't know what they're saying. The one day they're saying he had [suffered the injury] in the fight. The next day the say he had it since the Oscar De La Hoya fight [in 2008]. Another time they say he had it in camp. They don't know which excuse to use. They use this excuse and then forget about the excuse from yesterday so they'll come up with a new excuse and then come back to the old excuse."
