Marcos Maidana (35-4, 32KOs) has felt a lot of power punches during his career. He says the punching power of Floyd Mayweather Jr. (46-0, 26KOs) is "respectable" and he can't be taken for granted.
At the same time, Maidana stands firm on his opinion that last December's opponent, Adrien Broner, was a hard puncher and physically stronger.
"[Mayweather] never hurt me, but he's got a respectable punch. You've got to respect him," Maidana said. "[But] Broner [is a harder puncher], I felt his punch a lot more."
Maidana was able to tag Mayweather a few times, but never with a flush power punch. Maidana was brutally honest that he didn't have Mayweather in trouble at any point of the fight, stating "no, I don't feel I hurt him."
While some are under the impression that Mayweather finally started showing his age against Maidana, the Argentine boxer disagrees.
"No, he's fine. he prepares himself very well and he's still very strong," Maidana said.
Their Showtime Pay-Per-View rematch is scheduled for September 13th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
