When Marcos Maidana was asked to compare his last two opponents, Amir Khan and Erik Morales, you could almost predict his answer. Maidana lost a close twelve round decision to Khan in December and he won a close twelve round split decision over former three division champion Erik Morales on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

"I never said it was going to be easy. I always said that it was going to be war and that's what it was. [Khan and Morales] are on the same level pretty much. Amir Khan is a bit faster, but he runs....he runs. Erik doesn't run, he stands and fights," Maidana said.

"It surprised me that [Morales] able to take those punches. He is very hard to knock out. To knock him out you have to hit him with something, a stick or a hammer. I like fighting [guys like Morales] because they like to fight and they are brave."
