World Boxing Organization (WBO), World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev is still hungry to capture more gold.

Their two sides were recently in serious discussions, but the talks fell apart when they couldn't reach an agreement on the American television rights. Kovalev's side wanted the fight on HBO, while Stevenson wanted a joint production between HBO and Showtime.

Kovalev is not going to sit around and wait for that fight to take place. He plans to return to action in June, possibly in Moscow.

"That's still a fight that I desire, because I want to fight for that championship belt and add it to my collection. While Adonis Stevenson avoids meeting with me, I'll have scheduled fights with interesting opponents in June and November," said Kovalev.

The 38-year-old Canadian has a record of 27 wins (22 by KO) and one defeat.  Kovalev is unbeaten with 29 wins (26 by KO) and one draw.

If Kovalev wins his upcoming fight, he has a deal in  place to face Olympic gold medal winner Andre Ward (28-0, 15KOs) in a major showdown. But in order to keep that fall collision in place, Ward must do his own part on March 26th by defeating unbeaten Cuban contender Sullivan Barrera in Oakland, California.
