As previously reported, WBO/IBO/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko suffered an injury that forced his withdrawal from Saturday's fight with unbeaten British champion Dereck Chisora. There is some confusion over the actual injury. Promoter Frank Warren was informed that Klitschko had injured his back, but K2 Promotions issued a press release which described the injury to be a "torn abdominal muscle." Klitschko will require at least 4-6 weeks of recovery time.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer advised BoxingScene.com on Wednesday, that Klitschko's adviser Shelly Finkel informed him that Wladimir is very interested in finalizing a deal to fight WBA heavyweight champion David Haye.

Schaefer is planning to meet with Haye and manager Adam Booth in the next couple of days to discuss a potential deal to fight Klitschko. Haye is already in Las Vegas to support countryman Amir Khan on Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay. Booth is scheduled to arrive on Friday.

Klitschko's side is going to make a big push to get a Haye deal done, but if the two sides are unable to reach an agreement, then Chisora comes back to the fold.
