WBO/IBO/WBA/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53KOs) is hungry to secure the one world title which is missing from his collection - the green and gold belt of the World Boxing Council.
Klitschko is targeting undefeated puncher Deontay Wilder (33-0, 32KOs), who holds the WBC heavyweight belt and defense that belt against Eric Molina this Saturday in Alabama. If Wilder wins, he could be facing mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin next.
The unified champion is planning to defend his title this coming fall against Tyson Fury of the UK.
"Obviously [Wilder] is one of my target opponents, since he’s holding the title that I’ve never had before," said Klitschko.
"I definitely want to unify all the belts, but it’s not a must. If that’s not going to work, I’ll still be the heavyweight champion of the world. It’s not a must, but it would be nice to unify that belt that Deontay Wilder holds."
