WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan told The Telegraph that David Haye should have no problems with retaining his WBA heavyweight strap on Saturday night at the MEN Arena in Manchester. Haye will defend against 2000 Olympic gold medal winner Audley Harrison. He expects Haye to win by knockout in the mid-rounds.
"I think it will be a good fight but I could see David probably knocking him out in the mid-rounds. Around the sixth or seventh round, if it goes that long. I can't see it going longer than that," Khan said.
If Haye wants to make the big bucks, cement his legacy and retire as planned by the end of 2011 - Khan believes that he needs to fight the Klitschko brothers.
"I think he has to if he wants to earn a lot of money in this game and if he wants to retire in a year's time. And for his legacy to become the heavyweight champion of the world. He wants to be the toughest fighter in the world, and to earn that he has to beat the Klitschkos," Khan said.
Khan, and his trainer Freddie Roach, have put their faith in Haye as being the only fighter with the necessary tools to beat either of the Klitschko brothers.
"I think he has the style to beat the Klitschkos. He has speed, which I think the Klitschkos have a problem with. I think also his movement, because they are very straight-up fighters. I think David is the only fighter who can beat them," Khan said.
