Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) is only a few weeks away from his scheduled fight with WBC middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

Khan's fight with Canelo takes place on May 7th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The British fighter will move up in weight by eight pounds to a catch-weight of 155-pounds to challenge Canelo for the WBC belt.

But before Khan finalized the deal with Canelo, his team was in talks to face IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-0, 25KOs) on a June date at Wembley.

Khan believes his domestic rival was never serious about facing him and alleges that Brook, and his handlers, were dragging their feet with the negotiations - and that forced him to go in one direction - an HBO Pay-Per-View fight with Canelo.

He claims Brook is only interested in making mandatory defenses against second-tier opposition. Brook crushed mandatory challenger Kevin Bizier last month in Sheffield. He is now in a voluntary stage with the ability to face anyone. Brook wants to secure a major fight in the summer, but there are very few options available.

Khan recently expressed his doubts about the likelihood of a fight with Brook ever happening in the future.

"His bluff's been called again. I don't think he wants to face me. I think that was just b*llocks, that was just bullsh*t....100%. He don't want to face me. He can say what he wants, but he knows that I'm on my own route and he's just mentioning my name for publicity," Khan said. "Mr. king of mandatories. He should take a leaf from my book, grow some balls and fight someone."
