WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan (25-1, 18 KOs), Golden Boy Promotions, Gary Shaw, and HBO are trying to do everything possible to secure WBC/WBO champion Timothy Bradley for a proposed HBO televised fight on July 23. The financial package has been raised from $1.3 million to $1.4 million. To add more sugar to the plate, Khan is even willing to give Bradley a bigger percentage of the UK pay-per-view revenue. All of the involved parties are waiting to see if the larger financial outlook is enough to entice Bradley back to the table. But, Bradley is still rumored to be sitting out until his promotional contract with Shaw expires at the end of June.

In an interview with ESPN Deportes Radio, former IBF/WBO welterweight champion Antonio Margarito (38-7, 27 KOs) said he won’t be retiring due to the eye injury he sustained in his fight against Manny Pacquiao last November. Margarito stated that he wants to continue his career, and in the worst case scenario he plans to take a year off to recover from the injury. During the Pacquiao fight, he suffered a cracked right orbital bone which required surgery. But later some retinal damage was discovered and Margarito's return has been hanging in limbo.
