As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, Sauerland Event, who promote Mikkel Kessler (43-2, 32KOs), sent a lucrative offer of over three million Danish kroner to WBO super middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz (39-2, 23KOs) to face Kessler in a June title clash in Denmark.

"We have sent the Stieglitz camp an offer to meet Kessler in Denmark in June," confirmed Sauerland managing director Chris Meyer.

Not long after the news broke, Stieglitz's promoter, Ulf Steinforth, denied that he received any offer from Sauerland. He told Ekstrabladet that Stieglitz was in training for a defense of the title in March at home in Magdeburg.

Meyer of Sauerland insists to this reporter that an offer to SES and Stieglitz has been made. SES has not replied directly to our questions on the matter but it's pretty obvious that you can't get a deal done when one or both of the participants are occupied elsewhere.

Last year, Kessler left the Super Six tournament with an eye injury. He was experiencing blurred vision during training. Within 14 days, his eyes will be checked by specialists. If there are no problems found, Kessler plans to start sparring by March.
