Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez pledges his support for Saul "Canelo" Alvarez as a Mexican, but he thinks WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto will win the fight on November 21st at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Marquez, who's a vintage and brilliant counter puncher as well as a shrewd judge of boxing skills, leans towards the greater experience of Cotto.  Miguel Angel has constantly fought the best, while winning world titles in four different weight divisions.

Cotto has also been re-juvenated, rediscovering his hunger and passion for boxing since teaming up with legendary trainer Freddie Roach, three fights ago.

Canelo comes to the table almost ten years younger, fresher and with only one defeat, which was handed down to him by Floyd Mayweather.

When Marquez was asked about his opinion of Cotto vs. Canelo by NBC Sports, Juan didn't hesitate to point out that Cotto has more advantages, as he has been tested under fire against more difficult opposition.

"I would chose Miguel because he has faced good rivals. It is going to be a difficult fight, but I think that for Canelo it will be a little harder. I remember the time Cotto fought with Mayweather..he made it a real competitive fight. If you compare Canelo against Mayweather with Cotto´s performance, there is a clear difference," Marquez said.

"If we talk about experience, Cotto has more chances. If talk about prepration I think  both of them are even, but we know Cotto has fought against greater opponents."
