BoxingScene.com recently caught up with WBO 122 pound champion Jorge "Travieso" Arce. The four division titlist was in Las Vegas to support his countryman Rafael Marquez who lost an unanimous decision to WBC super bantamweight champ Toshiaki Nishioka.
There is some debate as to the validity of Arce's claim to be the first fighter of Mexican descent to capture titles in 4 different weight classes because some of the titles were of the interm variety.
Travieso defended the interm titles multiple times and feels that they are legit. The 66 fight veteran has set lofty goals for the end of his carer. He revealed to Boxingscene that when he retires, he plans on leaving the sport as a 6 division champion.
"I want to go down to 118 and win a title and then I would like to move up to 126 and fight Jhonny Gonzalez for his belt. Then I will be a 6 division champion," said Arce.
Arce has been calling for a fight against WBC/WBO bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire. It had been assumed that if they fought it would be for Arce's junior featherweight title but Arce has other ideas for their potential showdown.
"I want to move down and fight Donaire for his belts. Then after that I want to move straight to 126."
