Former four division world champion Jorge Arce (61-7-2, 46KOs) is still considering the possibility of fighting one last time. BoxingScene.com reported several days ago that Arce was considering the possibility of a farewell fight in Tijuana. Arce announced his retirement on December 15th, following a third round KO loss to super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire.
Some outlets using alias names have misquoted the fighter and twisted his words around. Arce makes it clear that his final decision has not been reached for a potential return, but he appears to be leaning in that direction.
"[This is] not about money. I think I owe the public a war. All my fights have been exciting. Donaire surprised me with his speed, power and he moved very fast. I was left wanting to go more rounds. I want to retire with a memorable fight, a war for twelve rounds for people to be satisfied. Whenever you lose a fight you're disappointed and I decided to retire. But after thinking hard about it, I think a boxer at my level, with all the achievements that I have, can not walk away on a knockout loss," Arce said.
Arce Armenta made it clear that he has in mind a low profile fighter, so that made the fight, is determined to take the risk of looking to one class, despite what happened last December.
