In light of Jermain Taylor exercising his option for a rematch with WBO/WBC middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik, undefeated John Duddy (22-0, 17KOs) will move forward with his Dec. 8 bout at Kings Hall in Belfast, Ireland.

If Taylor would have waived his option for an immediate rematch with Pavlik, then Duddy would have been the front-runner to face Pavlik on Jan 26 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

Duddy's opponent has not been named, but he hopes to land a fight with the winner of the Pavlik-Taylor rematch, which is tentative for Feb. 16 in Las Vegas or Feb. 23 in New York.
