It appears that former undisputed middleweight champion Jermain Taylor (28-2, 17KOs) will face stablemate Allan Green (27-1, 19KOs) on March 28 with Showtime as the event carrier. Promoter Mick Hennessy had hoped to match him against WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch, but the networks in America were not interested in the fight, and Taylor was not interested in fighting without exposure on American television.

Taylor's promoter Lou DiBella said the Froch fight won't happen because of the issue with the television networks and Taylor's ability to make more money against other opponents.

"It's not happening because Carl's not a good fighter," said DiBella to This is Nottingham . "It's because he is not a big name in the US. If the fight doesn't happen it's because of money. Jermain's in his 30s and we want to maximise his earning power. How do you make a deal when you can make a lot more money for a non-title fight?

"Whoever believes this is about winning belts is an idiot. It's about making money. I know what it is like in the UK economically. There is a limited amount of money from ITV and from the venue, because the only place Carl generates big bucks is Nottingham."
