In a shocking result, Japan’s Hiroyuki Hisataka was able to go the full twelve round distance with Mexico’s Hugo Cazares. Even Japanese boxing experts did not expect Hisataka to last six rounds, although the only TKO loss on his record was suffered in his 2002 pro debut. He did last the distance and even won a few rounds with his boxing ability. Cazares still walked away with a confortable unanimous decision to retain his WBA super flyweight title. The scores were 116-112, 117-111 and 117-111.

It was the third defense of the title for Cazares since winning the belt in May, and the second fight on Japanese soil this year. The contest took place at the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium in Osaka, Japan. Cazares improve to 34-6-2 with 24 knockouts, while Hisataka drops to 19-9-1 with 8 KOs.
