Danny Green and Vic Darchinyan are back in Australia. The two close friends arrived together at Sydney airport and discussed plans for a possible doubleheader in 2010. If both fighters have their way, they would like to stage the biggest card in the history of Australia. In the main event, Green would defend his IBO cruiserweight title against Bernard Hopkins. The co-feature would be Darchinyan, the WBC/WBA super flyweight champion, defend his title in a rematch with interim-champion Nonito Donaire.

There are some issues at hand for the doubleheader. Darchinyan is bound to Showtime. If HBO offers up more money for Hopkins-Green, both fighters agree the dream of a doubleheader would fall through.

"It's a big chance of happening,'' Green said to The Daily Telegraph. "HBO and Showtime are interested in bringing the fight to Australia. Vic is a Showtime fighter, he's the only fighter in the history of Showtime who has fought four times in the one year on Showtime - it's never been done - and it shows the popularity of Vic in the States and worldwide. For me and Vic to fight on the same show as mates, both defending our world titles against big names, it will be massive.''

Green told the paper that he spoke to Hopkins three times on the phone during his recent stay in America. He said an offer was made to Bernard and he liked what he heard.

"We made him an offer yesterday and I think that offer is going to be enough to entice him down under,'' Green said. "They like the offer. In boxing it's not as clear as that. There's a fair few grey areas still involved. Bernard has offers to go all over the world, he's going to take the best offer but the only thing that excites him is the cruiserweight world title he's never had.''
