IBF light heavyweight champion Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins (53-6-2, 32KOs) is not planning to fight for another two years. The 48-year-old boxer made history once again on Saturday night when he broke his own record of being the oldest boxer to capture a major world title, when he secured a twelve round unanimous decision over Tavoris Cloud at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
One possible option that Hopkins mentioned in a fight with WBO champion Nathan Cleverly of the UK.
"I won't go until I'm 50. I can't do it. My thing is - me, Richard [Schaefer] and my team, we will sit and we will talk. I have to be in LA next month, in April for three days, and we will sit and talk. You have a good fighter out there in England. The O2 Center is a real big [venue]. There are some 168-pounders out there. I'm here to stay but not until I'm 50. I'm a jokester sometimes, but I will tell everybody right now that I will not be in there at 50-years-old," Hopkins said
