Eddie Hearn, promoter for WBA, IBF, IBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs), has no problem with the request for neutral officials for the unification with WBO world champion Joseph Parker (24-0, 18 KOs).
Joshua vs. Parker is very close to a deal and could be finalized by the end of the coming week.
The fight is being targeted for the date of March 31, potentially at Principality in Cardiff, Wales.
Because the contest is taking place in the UK, Parker's promoter David Higgins has made a request for neutral officials.
Hearn has no issue with the request, because he doesn't expect this contest to go the twelve round distance.
Higgins would like to have all three of the official judges coming in from neutral countries, but Hearn would not be surprised if the British Boxing Board of Control sets down a trio of judges where one is from the UK, one is from New Zealand and one is from a neutral country.
"I don't have a problem either way because I don't think this fight is going twelve rounds. But I accept we have to do what is right by our fighters," Hearn told The New Zealand Herald.
"Both are aggressive fighters. AJ likes people to come on to him. He's much better technically than people make out. Joseph will step up and look better than he did in his last fight because no one is going to look good against Hughie Fury - he didn't come to fight."
Hearn admits that all of the trash talking has rattled Joshua a bit - which is going to create a some interesting pre-fight theatrics when both camps come together for the first press conference.
Last month, Higgins and Parker held a press conference in New Zealand, to present video evidence to prove their position that Joshua has questionable chin.
"They've got under his skin. The press conference is going to be a lot of fun. [Higgins] talks a lot but he's a character and the sport needs those. There's a method in his madness," Hearn said.
