WBA heavyweight champion David Haye is still planning to chase unification fights with both Klitschko brothers. Haye has vowed to retire by next October, which doesn't leave him with a lot of time to get the fights done. He wants to fight each Klitschko and then retire in the same manner as his idol, former undisputed heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis.
"There's a year to make those unification fights happen, win them and then retire at the top just like Lennox Lewis did. The brothers know I am the most dangerous person on the planet for them but I am sure the fights will happen and that I'll win them," Haye told The Sun.
First up is the British grudge fight with Audley Harrison on November 13 at the MEN Arena in Manchester. Haye has had very few positive things to say about Harrison and the reason for that - is because Haye says there is nothing positive about Harrison.
"There's not much nice to say. The best I can say is he'll look good on my knockout reel, a nice slow motion of him hitting the deck. We were pals once and I defended him when others were slagging him off but when I started achieving my goals all I ever heard from him were negative things. When I became the world champion he said he didn't think I'd won the fight. He said nobody in the US cared. I thought "If that's the way you want it, fine." I haven't spoken to him for years," Haye said.
