Manchester legend Ricky Hatton has a lot of respect for boxing ability of Floyd Mayweather Jr. Hatton backed Mayweather to defeat Manny Pacquiao on May 2nd with a twelve round unanimous decision.
There is plenty of respect for skills, but very little for Mayweather's personality and behavior outside of the ring.
Hatton, then an undefeated junior welterweight, moved up to 147-pounds to face Mayweather in 2007. After getting outclassed, Mayweather stopped him in the tenth round.
There was mutual respect afterwards, but Hatton still recalls the way Mayweather behaved in the buildup.
Hatton seems to be at a loss for words in the manner that Mayweather trashes his opponents, likely referring to some of the recent comments Mayweather has made about Pacquiao.
"When our fight was scheduled, Floyd was going: 'I'm going to beat you like a bitch, butt-f*** you.' It was nonsense. Floyd has his way and I have mine, but there's a line between selling tickets and disrespecting the sport. What's the point of being the world's best fighter if everyone thinks you're a d***head?," Hatton told The Mirror.
