According to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, former two-time heavyweight champion Hasim “The Rock” Rahman (41-6-2) will return to the ring against veteran Taurus Sykes (25-3-1) on June 14, at the Main Street Armory in Rochester.

Originally, Rahman had planned to meet former champ Ray Mercer, who instead signed a contract to face street fighter Kimbo Slice in the main event of a June 16 MMA event.

The co-feature will be a rematch of two Olympic rivals, as lightweight contender Almazbek “Kid Diamond” Raiymkulov (24-1-1) takes on Rochester's Jose Leonard Cruz (11-2-2) of Columbia. Raiymkulov beat Cruz in the 2000 Olympics.

The event, co-promoted by Bob Arum’s Top Rank and Ron Resnick, will be televised live on the Versus Network.
