Hank Lundy, fresh off a highlight reel KO of David Diaz in August (it was a SportsCenter Top 10 play), is looking for the big names at lightweight.
Lundy always makes for great TV fights, and as such is hoping to make his debut on HBO or Showtime in the near future.
“Now it’s time to make my appearance on HBO,” said Lundy, 27. “So I’m with it and I’m ready for it. Give me Brandon Rios, Robert Guerrero, Juan Marquez, I want the top guys. I’m ready. I’m a natural TV fighter. You put me on TV, I will never bomb out. I don’t care what type of fight I’m in. “
The Philadelphia native suffered the only loss of his pro career last year on ESPN2 to John Molina in a fight he was winning handily on the cards. Lundy (21-1-1, 11 KOs) began to showboat and taunt Molina and got caught, going down in the eighth, before the referee stopped the bout in the 11th.
“[Molina’s] been running and ducking from me, telling everybody that he’s done with that part of his career,” said Lundy. “He was getting his butt whooped. I played around and got caught. It really wasn’t the shot that caught me, I disputed the stoppage, but the referee took the fight from me standing up. Let me go out on my shield.”
Another fighter Lundy would love to get in the ring with is top prospect Adrien Broner, who campaigns five pounds south at 130.
“I’d kill him. He’s too small,” Lundy said. “I can’t make 130, but he can come up to 135. It’s a cakewalk for me with him. He doesn’t want to fight me. I guarantee they stay far away from me.
“Anybody that’s out there at 135 that thinks they can beat “Hammerin Hank” or has a title and they’re fighting bums, “Hammerin Hank” is right here, I don’t care who it is. I want them all, I’m hungry.
