For decades the Grand Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles was a central hub of boxing (along with many other events) but for the past decade it's been a Korean-American church (Glory Church of Jesus Christ), but they could be re-opening it's door for one night as a boxing venue.

"We've had talks and it hasn't been the right situation yet,'' said Eric Gomez, the Sr. Vice President of Golden Boy Promotions.

"But we've had talks and it's been very positive and we'd love to do something there."

For a few years Golden Boy ran a series at the Olympic, which was also hosted numerous professional wrestling events, along with roller derby and concerts. It ran a regular series of boxing cards that were put on by Aileen Eaton that featured some of the most popular fighters on the west coast.

The Olympic Auditorium, which is now surrounded by new and opulent facilities in downtown Los Angeles, harkens back to a different time and place for Los Angeles and for boxing.

As for the exact date of boxing returning to this venerable old building, Gomez told BoxingScene.com - "It's hard to say, it would have to be the right fight and the right situation."
