Two-time world title challenger Glenn Donaire (17-4-1, 9 KOs) has signed a promotional contract with Don King.
“I just sent the contract to my manager,” Donaire told Philippine News’ Truth Esguerra. “I’m really excited and I hope [Don] gives me a chance.”
Now campaigning at flyweight, the 31-year-old resident of San Leandro, Calif., and older brother of bantamweight champ Nonito Donaire hopes the deal will help him end a three–year stretch of inactivity.
“Right now I’m ready for 112,” Glenn said. “Back in the day I could only really fight at 108, but I’m a lot bigger and stronger…I’m trained by my dad (Nonito Donaire Sr.), who’s one of the best trainers out there, and I can really prove that it’s not just my brother that my dad can make a world champion.”
