Windsor, Ontario Police Service hosts the annual Special Olympics torch Run, this year honoring Constable Troy Klyn on May 30th. Grand Marshall for the 5k torch run and leading the race is Windsor’s own WIBA Super Bantam ladies boxing champion, JEANNINE GARSIDE.

"I’m excited to be in this event and hope to see a lot of people there in support of their annual event," said Garside, who will start the race and then take part in the run.

Constable Ann Hall, who organized this year’s run is enthusiastic about Garside attending. "We’re happy to have Jeannine Garside as our Grand Marshall for the Special Olympics Torch Run, and to have a local celebrity participate for a good cause. We all look forward to meeting Jeannine, and the response with the policemen about her being at the run has been overwhelming!"

The Special Olympics Torch Run is May 30 at 3 PM. To participate in the run, or for more details contact Constable Ann Hall at 519-255-6700, ext. 4214
