Tyson Fury has Wladimir Klitschko in his sights after his victory over Dereck Chisora.
The British heavyweight beat Chisora in London at the weekend and his promoter, Mick Hennessy, immediately indicated that Fury may challenge the Ukrainian, who holds the WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO titles.
Fury dominated Chisora, who failed to come out for the 11th round, in their eliminator. The 26-year-old is now undefeated after 23 professional fights and the mandatory challenger for the WBO belt and the European and British champion.
"Klitschko is being allowed one more fight in March or April. Then it will be purse bids, then the fight is on. It'll be June to September,” Hennessy said. “The big fight is on. Klitschko has to just take it and not swerve it."
Klitschko also has an option of fighting Bermane Stiverne for the Canadian’s WBC belt.
Chisora, 30, who was defending the European title he won in September last year, was unable to avenge his 2011 loss to Fury despite coming into the fight on the back of a five-fight winning streak.
Fury, who had fought only twice in the past two years, switched to southpaw in round two and controlled every round in front of 18,700 spectators in a sold-out ExCel Arena.
Some spectators jeered at the lack of action after the sixth and seventh rounds. There were few potential fight-ending blows but Chisora was bleeding from the nose and mouth and a cut near one of his eyes before the tenth round.
His corner held him back before the start of the eleventh, making it his fifth defeat in 25 professional fights.
"I was happy with the performance. I enjoyed it," said Fury.
