Heavyweight contender Tyson Fury has verbally erupted at his domestic rival, Anthony Joshua.

Joshua, in a recent interview for an on-demand network special for Sky Sports, ridiculed Fury for selecting unbeaten prospect Otto Wallin for his next scheduled fight on September 14th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Joshua is preparing for a planned December rematch with Andy Ruiz.

On June 1, Joshua was stopped in seven rounds by Ruiz, who scored four knockdowns in the contest.

Joshua is holding his nose at the bout between Fury and Wallin, explaining that a boxer at the level of Fury should be facing fighters of a higher level.

"I fought Wallin as an amateur. These guys are cream of the crop, they shouldn’t be fighting them type of people. I can’t fight Wallin, don’t think I can ever fight lower-tier heavyweights," Joshua said. 

Fury took heavy offense that Joshua would ridicule someone like Wallin.

"What about Andy Ruiz then? Was he a top tier heavyweight when he fought him? He got knocked out by him. No he wasn’t, that’s the answer to that question. Nobody knew who Andy Ruiz was. He was a two-week replacement opponent," Fury told Behind The Gloves.

He explains that Wallin is getting the same opportunity that Ruiz received a few months ago.

"People only become somebody by getting an opportunity. This time last year Andy Ruiz was nobody, absolutely f***ing nobody. Today he’s heavyweight champion of the world. If he wasn’t given the opportunity on two weeks notice then nobody would know his name," Fury said. 

"He contradicts himself quite a lot actually. AJ, you must think before you speak, you little p*ssy. He got his ass handed to him by Andy Ruiz, so now he thinks he needs to talk a bit more."
