The dispute continues between promotional company Sauerland Event and former champion Carl Froch over the venue for his appearance in the Super Six Boxing Classic, which takes place in August against Arthur Abraham. Wilfried Sauerland said there was no pre-existing agreement with Froch's promoter Mick Hennessy to stage the event in Nottingham, Froch's hometown.

"Contrary to what Mick Hennessy stated after the fight on Saturday, there is no agreement – neither written nor verbal – about the fight venue,” Sauerland said. “Some newspapers have wrongly suggested that I shook hands with Mick Hennessy on an agreement but that is not true. The tournament contracts imply that the Abraham-Froch fight should take place on European territory or wherever it makes the most commercial sense for everyone involved. I would prefer it to be on neutral territory. If this cannot be done, we should go for the best commercial option."

"We will get back to the negotiating table with Mick Hennessy and Team Froch to find a solution that suits either side. One must not forget the accumulated travel time – it would be highly unfair if Abraham, after flying all the way to the US, would have to travel to Nottingham while Froch only had to take a brief one-hour to Denmark, which even happened to be on a private jet. But I am sure we will work this out.”

Froch felt that he was robbed last Saturday in Denmark, when he lost his title via unanimous decision to Mikkel Kessler, another fighter under the Sauerland banner. The Brit has threatened to quit the Super Six tournament if the fight heads to Germany. He issued a statement, demanding at least 1 million to fight Abraham in Germany. Froch doesn't think he will ever get a decision in Germany and wants to be compensated what Showtime has promised to give him if he reached the semi-finals.

"It would take at least a million quid for me to fight in Germany - the same money I'd get in the semi-final or final - because I wouldn't get the decision on points over there," Froch said.
