IBF/WBA 'regular' super middleweight champion Carl Froch is questioning Amir Khan's ability to compete with the best of his division, especially with welterweight fighters who can punch like Keith Thurman, Manny Pacquiao and Kell Brook.

Khan did get a close twelve round decision win over dangerous puncher Marcos Maidana in 2010, when they were both at 140-pounds, but Maidana had him in a lot of trouble in the championship rounds and came very close to a stoppage.

"Every time Amir Khan has fought anybody in the top five he's been knocked out. Tell me anybody that he's beat who's been ranked in the top five? Danny Garcia annihilated him. How times was [Paulie] Malignaggi beat before Khan fought him? And he's a non-puncher. Any time he steps in with a puncher, anyone who can punch at top level, and most top level fighters can punch - he gets cleaned out. [Lamont] Peterson, Garcia, [Breidis] Prescott [have beat him]. They are not top world beaters and they are cleaning out Amir Khan. I'm not just giving him stick, we're talking boxing,"  Froch told BoxingScene.com/Be Real Boxing

Khan (29-3, 19KOs) returns on December 13th in a high stakes fight against fellow former champion Devon Alexander at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. If Khan is successful, he will certainly become a frontrunner to fight WBC/WBA champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2015.
